* INTERMEDIATE / ADVANCED CLASS – Classes marked Int/Adv are for uninjured bodies who are familiar with Pilates and who have learnt the sound principles of good movement.
* FASCIAL FITNESS CLASS – Fascia is connective tissue found everywhere in the body, connecting everything. It is our strength system & our recoil rebound mechanism that stores energy like a catapult or spring. When fascia loses its ability to “glide and slide” it can become stuck creating scar tissue, inhibiting movement & causing injury.
This class aims to create fascial flexibility and fascial integrity by creating “space” in the tissues & moving into that space. “Space” is created by hydrating the fascia using self release techniques & maintaining that space with strengthening exercises.
Sessions focus on diaphragmatic breathing whilst employing techniques of compression & expansion (rolling & shearing using balls & rollers), bouncing, tensegrity & pandiculation to get the fascia “unstuck”. We want to create a healthy “fascial suit” that allows us to be aware of our bodies not through pain but through spatial awareness. For a full description on what fascia is click here.
* HIIT – High Intensity Interval Training classes are 30 min workouts focusing on cardio and strength. Body resistance exercises are used to push you beyond your perceived limits and give you a SUPER effective FAT-BURNING workout in a short space of time. This class is only suitable for those with some basic fitness and no injuries.
* HIIT BEGINNER-FRIENDLY (please refer to HIIT description above for the low-down on HIIT) – This class caters for the unfit and HIIT novice. Each exercise is broken down into levels to make it accessible for all bodies and fitness levels. No injured bodies though!
* UNFOLD ‘n FLOW (temporarily on hold) – The emphasis is on breath, Intentional postures and smooth transitions linking each action to the next to create an unfolding chain of flow and fun. Movement imitating life and life imitating movement. (think Vinyasa Yoga without spiritual connotations). This is a mixed ability class but not for injured or complete beginner bods.
* PILATES – Mixed ability Pilates-based movement class using small props and creative thinking 😉
* PILATES BEGINNER-FRIENDLY – This class caters for Beginners and the “rehab ready injured” in terms of attention and correction although it is a mixed ability class. The pace, flow and complexity may be a bit easier than other classes but the sessions are still challenging for the “advanced” mover.
* PILATES BEGINNER CLASS – In this class you will learn the sound principles of good movement as the foundation towards improved strength, balance, coordination & flexibility.
* PILATES 60+ & BEGINNER CLASS – This class is perfect if you’re 60+, a beginner or needing some injury rehab. In this class you will learn the sound principles of good movement as the foundation towards improved strength, balance, coordination & flexibility.
* Pilates_Yoga Combo Release – A great post-HIIT cool down as well as a general stretch and release. This class combines the best of Pilates precision with Yoga mindfulness for tight bodies craving lengthening and letting go for body and soul 🙂
